Focused Interventions And Support That Can Ensure A Better Transition To Adulthood
Each year, an estimated 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness. This is a critical and often overlooked segment of the population of individuals experiencing homelessness. Project HOME’s Young Adult Program was established in 2014 through the support of Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi and the JBJ Soul Foundation. Expanded from the initial 8-apartment pilot, today, Project HOME provides 70 LGBTQ-friendly apartments with support services for young adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness as a foundation to achieve their long-term goals for housing, education, and employment.
Project home’s young adult program is a key component of our initiatives to prevent chronic street homelessness. Each person benefits from the core components of Project HOME’s model — a permanent supportive living environment, good healthcare, a job, and further education. The Young Adult Program offers residences at four Project HOME locations:
- Francis House of Peace (8 apartments)
- JBJ Soul Homes (12 apartments)
- Ruth Williams House at the Gene & Marlene Epstein Building
(20 apartments) - Gloria Casarez Residence (30 apartments)
