Ensuring Everyone Has A Voice
Project HOME’s Advocacy and Community Engagement Department seeks to ensure that all members of our community have a voice, especially people who are living in poverty, in recovery, and/or with mental health challenges. We achieve this through leadership development and empowerment activities which engage members of our community in speaking out on the issues affecting homeless and poor persons and acting to bring about change.
We work with a variety of coalitions on city, state, and national levels to impact public policies, educate elected officials, maximize resources for housing and services, and advocate for human and civil rights for persons who are poor, homeless, and/or disabled.
The Vote For Homes Coalition—a nonpartisan advocacy effort focused on the issues of affordable housing, living-wage jobs, and quality services in Philadelphia—is also an important part of this work. Since 1999, Vote For Homes has registered and mobilized more than 18,000 voters to vote.
