Volunteer and In-Kind Update | March 2015

Paige Dennis

Project HOME is in need of volunteer tutors, and several residences are in need of vacuum cleaners. As always, check out our online Amazon wish list, Amazon Smile account, and list of in-kind needs.

Volunteer Opportunities

K-8 Tutors
Help afterschool students at the Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs with literacy and homework. Mondays through Thursdays, 4pm to 6 pm.

Teen Tutors
Help afterschool students at the Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs with homework and SAT prep. Mondays through Fridays, 4 pm to 6 pm.

Adult Tutors
Tutor Project HOME residents and community members in literacy, technology, or GED preparation. Tutors must be trained through the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy or have an equivalent certification. Tutors can either be matched with adult students at the Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs for daytime hours or can be stationed at Project HOME residences for evening hours.

Interested in volunteering? Learn more about each position, fill out the volunteer application, and register for the next orientation at the volunteer webpage.

Gift-in-Kind Needs

Have a new or gently used vacuum cleaner in working condition? Rowan Homes and other residential programs are looking for vacuum cleaners to keep for community use.

Our programs can use more in-kind donations, like deodorant, lotion and shower shoes. Check out our online Amazon wish list, Amazon Smile account, and full list of in-kind needs.

Please note that our wish list on Amazon in no way advocates for one product or company over any other; all listed products were selected by lowest price only. For more information or to schedule a delivery appointment, please contact Volunteer and In-Kind Coordinator Paige Dennis at [email protected] or 215-320-6199.
