Restoring Dignity: The PECO/Exelon Veterans Training and Employment Program

Project HOME and PECO recently celebrated the graduation of the latest PECO/Exelon Veterans Training and Employment Program class. The video above was shown as part of the presentation and highlights the program and graduate Thomas Walker, Jr., who is emblematic of the fine men and women who have successfully passed through the program over the years.

Project HOME, in partnership with the Exelon Foundation and PECO, operates the PECO/Exelon Veterans Training and Employment Program, provides job skills training and paid internships to formerly homeless veterans. Through this initiative, formerly homeless veterans have access to paid work experiences.

The goal of the PECO/Exelon  Veterans Training and Employment Program is to help formerly homeless veterans reach their fullest potential through employment and educational opportunities that are based on the recovery principles of building a positive identity and personally meaningful connections and roles in the community. The program targets formerly homeless veterans living in Project HOME supportive housing residences, as well as Project HOME resident alumni.
