[RELEASE] Project HOME Celebrates Conclusion of Most Successful Fundraising Campaign, $130M Raised to End and Prevent Chronic Street Homelessness in Philadelphia
Event on November 19 marked the close of historic ‘Home Is Where The Start Is’ comprehensive campaign with trolley tour of Project HOME residences followed by celebration at Christopher J. Seward Residence
Last week we announced the successful conclusion of our “Home Is Where The Start Is” comprehensive campaign, the most successful fundraising effort in Project HOME’s history. The event began with a trolley tour of notable Project HOME residences and locations throughout the city, followed by a celebration and remarks from elected officials, Project HOME leaders, and community members.
“The HOME Is Where The Start Is comprehensive campaign was our most significant fundraising initiative in Project HOME’s history, and we’re beyond grateful to all of the donors and partners who made it a success,” said Donna Bullock, President and CEO of Project HOME. “This event celebrates our shared success by giving donors and other Project HOME community members an inside look at Project HOME’s impact throughout the city and all we’ve accomplished together.”
About the “Home Is Where The Start Is” Comprehensive Campaign
Over nearly five years, the campaign raised $130 million through philanthropic partnerships, foundations, and donors to support capital projects, operating costs, and endowments, exceeding its initial goal of $118 million. This historic fundraising effort has been leveraged to secure an additional $127 million in public funds through government programs and grants to further support housing, employment, healthcare, and education initiatives.
Originally slated to run through June 2025, our campaign concluded seven months ahead of schedule thanks to successfully achieving our funding goal. Through the campaign, we were able to surpass its goal of developing 1,000 units of affordable housing in the City of Philadelphia through new and renovated properties, including Gloria Casarez Residence, Maguire Residence, Inn of Amazing Mercy, Honickman Learning Center Comcast Technology Labs, and more.
