Operation Kate Place to Christmas Child

Hannah Buzzelli

It’s been truly amazing to see our community come together to help children in need.

Here at Kate’s Place, we have been getting into the holiday spirit early. Several of Kate’s residents, led by our wonderful case manager Victoria Williams, were able to contribute to Operation Christmas Child, an international organization which sends shoeboxes full of presents to children in underprivileged countries. Residents and staff bought small presents, ranging from snow hats to Barbies to coloring books to stretchy lizard toys to fill the shoeboxes. We held a shoebox packing party yesterday afternoon, listened to Christmas music, and filled 12 shoeboxes! Word has since spread throughout the building about Operation Christmas Child, and donations are still coming in to fill even more boxes. It’s been truly amazing to see our community come together to help children in need.
