[NEWS] Tell your senator to vote against this last-ditch attempt to add a Medicaid work requirement: Opinion

Our vice president for healthcare services, Monica Medina McCurdy, recently penned an op-ed calling for the protection of Medicaid.

From Pennlive.com:

We have yet another example of elected leaders grasping at easy political "wins" instead of real solutions, and failing the good people of the Commonwealth.

Legislation sponsored by Rep. Dan Moul, R-Adams, passed the state House Tuesday by a vote of 102-91. Because the bill was amended in the House, it now returns heads to the state Senate for a vote that could happen with just six hours' notice.

There are three major problems with Moul's bill, a piece of budget-enabling legislation known as the Human Services Code.

It seeks to limit access to healthcare for Pennsylvanians - mostly elderly, disabled, and/or low-income workers - who are easy political scapegoats for sure.
