HOME Spun Star Volunteer
The HOME Spun Resale Boutique, an employment initiative of Project HOME, is in need of men’s clothing! We are looking for high-quality casual to professional outfits and accessories. They can be dropped off anytime during our open hours: Tuesday-Friday 11 AM-7 PM and Saturday 12-5 PM at 1523 Fairmount Avenue (tax receipts available). Every sale goes towards providing income for residents of our program. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/HOME_Spun
Bill Shriver has volunteered with Project HOME for more than 10 years and has recently offered his time helping out at the HOME Spun Resale Boutique, a fashionable employment initiative. Read on to learn more about him!
What made you choose to volunteer at Project HOME?
I was first inspired to volunteer after reading an article about Sister Mary’s work and wanted to give a helping hand. Too many people just aren’t making it financially in our society. I began volunteering at Project HOME 12 years ago in other departments and started at HOME Spun in July 2013.
What are your duties as a HOME Spun volunteer?
As a volunteer I work assisting store staff with office work and steaming, sorting, and organizing clothing and shoes.

Your favorite part of volunteering:
My favorite part of volunteering would have to be my co-workers. We all work as a team.
Why do you continue to volunteer?
Even though I am a volunteer I feel treated like an employee and an equal. I know I am appreciated here.
How would you improve HOME Spun: We are in need of more men’s items including high quality suits, blazers, and button ups.
