Help Us Mary

After having the chance to talk to artist, Meg Saligman about her current project, the “Mary, Undoer of Knots” grotto, Betsy Alexander said “she could just feel a song coming on!” Betsy, also known as E.A. Alexander has been composing liturgical music since she was a young girl. Her song, “Help Us Mary” reflects on the positive that can be made out of the negative. After hearing Meg’s description of the knots and struggles that people were using to create such beautiful imagery, she couldn’t help but be moved by the idea that as individuals, we are stronger when we put our struggles together.

According to Betsy, the “Mary, Undoer of Knots” art installation as well as this new “Help Us Mary” song can help remind us that while we may feel the world today has so many horrible things going on, we don’t need to feel overwhelmed and in the spirit of Pope Francis, we can use love rather than hatred to lift our spirits.

Some of Betsy's other projects include: I Never Saw Another Butterfly , Another Kind Of Hero and Nora, the Piano Cat
