A Groundbreaking for Everyone: The Gloria Casarez Residence Groundbreaking Recap

Last Wednesday, Project HOME broke ground on the four-story, 36,547-square-foot Gloria Casarez Residence, which will bring 30 LGBTQ-friendly affordable homes to North Philadelphia for young adults (ages 18-23 at entry) who are homeless, have experienced or are at risk of homelessness, including those aging out of foster care. The first permanent supportive housing of this kind in Pennsylvania and among the first in the nation, Gloria Casarez Residence is the first of two planned residences to be built on this site. The groundbreaking featured a round of inspiring and heartfelt speeches led by our very own Sister Mary Scullion, whose remarks can be viewed below.

Jessie Keel joined Sister Mary to share some remarks about her time at Project HOME and the impact that the Gloria Cararez residence will have on the future.
