Each and Every Day

Vernetta Oakman
Vernetta Oakman is a resident of 1515 Fairmount Avenue (right in photo above, with fellow resident Brian Mitchell).   She often shares wisdom from her own experience to support others in recovery and rebuilding their lives.  She shares some of her reflections here.

Hurt people, Hurt
Used people, Use
Judgmental people, Judge
Deceivers, Deceive
Liars, Lie
Haters, Hate
So try God.  Talk to him.  Stop hurting, using, judging, deceiving, lying, and hating.
Start encouraging your mind ii it works all the time. Share an encouraging word with someone each day.

Yes, I’m not who I used to be. But I’m not who I should be. I fall down, yes, and now I can get up. No, I’m not who I should be, but I’m not who I used to be. I get depressed and lose my way. So I stop and find my direction.
Yes, I’m not who I used to be but I’m not who I should be. I get lonely and I cry, then I look around and I thank God that I’m still alive. No I’m not who I used to be and not who I should be.
Yes, I’m on my way each and every day
