Project HOME hosts annual graduation event recognizing 12 students who have received their high school diplomas, many of whom will be pursuing post-secondary education in the fall.
Project HOME recently held a very special graduation celebration at the Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs for the high school graduates and alumni of the College Access Program (CAP).
This year, 12 students received their high school diplomas with 10 graduates moving directly on to post-secondary education in the fall.
In recognition of their outstanding accomplishments, these young scholars will also receive scholarships toward their education from committed donors. This year’s graduating students will join our 40 CAP alumni currently working on their degrees.
CAP is a college preparatory program that seeks to efficiently prepare teens and families in previously underserved areas to achieve college success through the mediums of career and college readiness, college access, and successful college retention. Ideally, students are supported from high school through to the end of college. The program uses a three-pronged approach to support college access and success: Academics, Entrepreneurship and Career Exploration.
In addition to academic support, enrichment, SAT prep and college access guidance, the program offers electives in the areas of Culinary Arts, Film, Photography, Computer Technology, Digital Music and Media and many other programs.
