Pennsylvania’s First!
LGBTQ-Friendly Young Adult Housing

30 one-bedroom apartments are being built to serve young adults, age 18-23 at entry, who are homeless, have experienced homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness (including those aging out of foster care).  National data indicated that as many as 40 percent of young adults experiencing homelessness identify as LGBTQ: one of the fastest growing segments of the homeless population. The residence will be the first young adult-only, LGBTQ-friendly permanent supportive housing in Pennsylvania.

Residents will benefit from a combination of housing, employment, education, and health care-related services, in addition to case management, life skills, and community-building activities.

This four-story, 36,547-square-foot building at 1315 North 8th St. offers building amenities including a community room laundry, exercise, storage, and bike rooms The site is conveniently located near public transportation: bus, trolley and the Broad Street subway line are just a few blocks away.
