Affordable Homeownership Program
Project H.O.M.E.'s Affordable Housing Program applies a comprehensive approach to mitigate neighborhood disinvestment: "the deterioration of neighborhood assets and the withdrawal of capital from our communities." The program is designed to stimulate housing production in North Philadelphia, to create positive community impact and scale, and to increase the development and transformation of a distressed urban community into attractive place to live. By 2010 our goal is to develop and sell a total of 100 homes in order to meet the growing need for affordable housing in Philadelphia.

Block Preservation and Place Making Initiatives
Our Block Preservation and Place Making Initiatives compliment our Affordable Housing and Economic Development Programs. Technical assistance and program development is offered to neighborhood residents and businesses in the form of façade preservation, and streetscape improvements on targeted blocks. Additionally, home maintenance and repair workshops are hosted in partnership with local energy assistance and home maintenance and repair agencies. Homeowners receive training with an emphasis on safety and fire prevention; seasonal maintenance; plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems; and electrical systems; repairing sheet rock; painting; paperhanging; tiling and flooring; basic carpentry; and home cleaning.
